How does an individual constellation session work and what are the benefits?

What is an individual constellation session?
Individual constellation session is a deeply personal but safe way to deepen self-awareness and find inner solutions. It brings to the surface unconscious patterns that may stem from childhood, the family system or past experiences. Unlike from the group constellationwhere members of the system are represented by other people, symbolic objects – such as wooden dolls, stones or other meaningful objects – are used on an individual basis to shape the client’s situation. systemic image.
Both forms of work have their advantages: group constellations allow you to experience dynamic perceptions and movements through surrogates, while individual constellations offer more privacy and focus on your personal inner world. The choice depends on the client’s needs, theme and readiness.

What does an individual constellation session look like?
The session usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes andfollows these steps:
1. Introductory conversation
The Constellator listens to you to understand your concerns and your purpose. You will probably also be asked about your family history – who has been important in the family, if there are any known tragic events, etc.
2. Setting the focus
Together, they choose a specific topic to work on. It could be, for example, “Why can’t I have a stable relationship?”. Or “Why do I constantly feel guilty?”
3. Placing the system in the room
Using figurines, papers or other objects, you place your own “system” in the room – for example, the symbols of mother, father, yourself, an important event. Sometimes a constellation also works through visualisation, where you are asked to imagine people or situations.
4. Studying dynamics
The constellator asks: “How do you feel when you look at this picture?” and helps you notice patterns, roles and connections.
5. Creating a solution
Sometimes you’ll be asked to move around the room or to say sentences that will help bring about change. When stuck energy, pain or guilt is brought to the surface, a solution is sought – for example, restoring balance or ‘giving someone back their place’ in the system.
6. Completion and integration
At the end of the session, the experience will be shared and the insights gained will be put into practice.
What can you experience after the session?
- A sense of relief, clarity or deep calmness
- New understanding of your family history or internal conflicts
- Sometimes the change can happen over time – the system starts to “retune”.
Finally
An individual constellation session is a profound but gentle way of balancing your life and inner world. If you feel you want to better understand your recurring patterns or unresolved issues, this may be the place to start.
